About me
I am a PhD candidate in sociology at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center. I study punishment, political economy, race and racism, and organizations. My dissertation uses observations, interviews, and archival methods to examine how monetary sanctions are implemented in local courts. I am advised by Van Tran, Professor of Sociology at the Graduate Center.
I currently teach Introduction to Law & Society at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and serve as the Open Digital Projects Fellow at the Graduate Center’s Teaching and Learning Center.
Prior to starting my PhD, I worked at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice and Arnold Ventures. I received a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Chicago.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, music, soccer, and lots of quality couch time with my dog.
